Warning: the information provided in this article has not been updated in a while and parts of it may be outdated.

Toradex modules support Windows Embedded Compact(CE5.0, CE6.0, WEC7.0, WEC2013) and Embedded Linux.

Note: Toradex is currently not actively maintaining and supporting Android. However, for some Toradex computer on modules we have preview Android images available.

Toradex Computer Modules (Colibri/Apalis) which are in volume production come with pre-installed Windows Embedded Compact(WinCE). Toradex Computer Modules (Colibri/Apalis) which are in sample stage come with pre-installed Embedded Linux, but customer can reflash the OS of their choice. We anyway highly recommend to setup your production in a way which always loads your tested software combination (Bootloader, Operating System, your applications and settings). Please don't assume, that our modules will always ship with the same operating system version! We normally use the latest available operating system at the time of manufacturing our products.

The Apalis iMX6 and Colibri iMX6 pre-installed software has been changed from "Embedded Linux" to "Toradex Easy Installer" as of Q3 2017. The Toradex Easy Installer allows customers to easily flash the latest Embedded Linux or Windows CE BSPs provided by Toradex, and also makes it easy to flash production images. Please refer to the Toradex Easy Installer article for more information.
